Meet our instructor
Introducing Natalie Chan, a remarkable individual whose journey from Taiwan to the United States has molded her into a multi-talented and passionate artist. Armed with a background in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin and a degree in Photography from the School of Visual Arts (SVA), Natalie brings a unique perspective to both life and art.
Beyond traditional mediums, Natalie's artistic exploration spans diverse realms. For over a decade, she has immersed herself in Ashtanga, a dynamic form of yoga emphasizing strength and flexibility. Amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic, Natalie ventured into the realm of sound bath therapy, undertaking a self-taught journey to harness the power of sound and vibrations, creating a deeply relaxing and meditative experience for herself and others.
Ceramics and tango hold special places in Natalie's heart. The tactile nature of ceramics allows her to mold and shape clay into beautiful and functional objects, offering solace and fulfillment. Additionally, the rhythmic movements and intimate connections inherent in tango dancing captivate her soul, providing an expressive outlet that complements her diverse artistic pursuits.
Currently a resident of the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, Natalie shares her home with her beloved three-year-old cat named Momo. Together, they cultivate a cozy and inspiring environment that not only nurtures Natalie's artistic endeavors but also serves as a sanctuary for her creative spirit.
